Sydney attracts many toruists with its wonderful climate, golden beaches and countless attractions.
Australians are very friendly and hospitable so you'll experience a relaxed atmosphere in this modern metropolis. Sydney's population is very diverse with people from all over the Asian continent.
The gay scene is centred around Oxford Street in the suburb of Darlinghurst but you'll find gay venues all over the city. Oxford Street is in the city centre with most of the shopping streets and the best eateries in the area. You should find your way to the Oxford Art Factory where all the hip and alternative people go to eat, dance, listen to live music, and watch exhibits.
The famous annual week-long event Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade is in February-March.
There are plenty of gay and gay-friendly beaches in Sydney with the most popular being the north part of Bondi Beach. There's also the Lady Jane beach where clothes are an abomination, Obelisk beach which is legally nude but requires quite a walk to get to or the Little Congwong clothing-optional beach beyond the part dedicated to families. Murray Rose Pool is located on a bay which makes it quite safe to dip in or go to the Tamarama which is more secluded and deserted and perfect for a picnic but the waves can be quite dangerous so be careful.
Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera are a must-see!
