Montreal

Montreal has one of the largest gay villages in the world (Le Village) - east of downtown, located on Saint Catherine Street East, centred on the Beaudry Metro station, and on Amherst Street in the Ville-Marie borough of the city.

The annual events in Montreal include the Black & Blue Festival organized by the Bad Boy Club Montreal from 7th to 13th October, Mado Lamotte’s 15th annual Drag Race at the Montreal Fringe Festival, whose 2015 edition runs from June 1 to 21, Fierté Montréal Pride’s annual Gay Pride celebrations run from August 10 to 16, with Community Day on August 15, Dyke March on August 13 and Pride Parade on August 16, Pervers/Cité from 6th - 16th of August, Mtl en Arts, an annual arts festival showcasing local and emerging artists in a one-kilometre-long outdoor art gallery, from July 1 to 5.

Grévin Museum offers a great experience as it has a collection of 120 life-like wax mannequins of international superstars.

Montréal will also host several real-life gay pop icons this summer: out British actor John Barrowman – star of the cult TV show Doctor Who – is the guest of honour at this summer’s edition of Montreal Comiccon, which runs from July 3 to 5; and divas Lana Del Rey (Bell Centre on June 4), Ariana Grande (Bell Centre on August 6),Dee Dee Bridgewater (Festival International de Jazz de Montréal on July 3) and Madonna (Bell Centre on September 9 and 10) are all headlining local concerts.
