Frankfurt is the financial centre of Germany where most of German banks have found their centres and the only city that's characterized by its skyscrapers. It's often refered to as "Mainhattan" or "Bankfurt". The Frankfurt Airport is the largest and busiest in all of Europe. If you visit Frankfurt, you won't just see the newest and triendiest, there's plenty of historic sites to be experienced as many of them remained untouched after the war. There's the River Main runing through the city with beautiful bridges built on it throughout the city. The crowd is very culturally mixed since many foreign businesses have established here.
Alte Gasse street is where most of the gay venues are in the city centre Innenstadt. The gay scene may be smaller than Berlin's but it's very friendly and fun. Next to it is the popular Zeil street where you'll do your most fancy shopping. Unfortunately, some of the more popular cruise clubs and saunas are located further away from the "gay village" so you'll need some form of transport to get there.
Frankfurt hosts one of the biggest Christopher Street Parades on the 17th to 19th of July.
There's a great flea market along the River Main and Museum Mile open every Saturday from 9am to 2pm.
Sachsenhausen is a great place to go to get away from the glamour of downtown Frankfurt. You can go to one of the apple wine taverns or museums or enjoy the lively nightlife with plenty of bars, taverns and restaurants.
