Stockholm doesn't have a large gay scene, there's little cruising in saunas or clubs but the atmosphere in the entire city is very relaxed with plenty of gay-friendly cafes, restaurants and clubs.
The places with most concentrated cafes and restaurants are in the popular districts of Södermalm, Gamla Stan (Old Town) and Kungsholmen.
The Stockholm Gay Pride is at the end of July or beginning of August.
Most bars in Sweden are also restaurants especially during the day so don't expect pure bars anywhere. Also, the gay parties are more low-key and most clubs close at 4am and have min 20 years entry and some even 23.
And if you're into ABBA (Sweden's most famous pop band) you should head to the ABBA Museum celebrating the group of musicians. You'll listen to their fantastic music while admiring their outfits that were worn while they performed or the instruments they used.
Långholmen is a small island in central Stockholm with three beaches one of which is a gay beach. Karlshällsvägen is where you'll find it on the hill and there's some cruising going on but don't expect crowds.
If you'd like to endulge in Swedish fashion, go to the department store Nordiska Kompaniet where you'll find all the famous brands.
Färgfabriken is an art gallery south of Söder and a great place to go because of its extraordinary exhibitions and innovative creations. You should also visit the Moderna Museet which has one of the finest collections of 20th and 21st century art.
Stockholm Culture Festival (Stockholms Kulturfestival) is a big event usually on the second week of August that hosts great performances of all kind filling the streets with people. Popaganda is a music festival every year on the last weekend of August at Eriksdalsbadet.
For more alternative shopping go to the southern island called Sodermalm in SoFo. Hornstulls marknad, on the west of the island, is an outdoor market open every Sunday May to September.
